How to decorate a plastic jar

Instead of tossing out the empty plastic jar that held your peanut butter or pickles, recycle it into an attractive home-decor item. Using scrap booking and craft supplies, it's easy to turn an item that would end up clogging a landfill into something useful -- and it's an ideal craft to complete with the kids. Decorate several plastic jars in a variety of sizes to create a display for a shelf, or use holiday-themed supplies to decorate jars for gift-giving. You can successfully decorate a plastic jar according below instructions.
1,Clean the jars using soap and water, and rinse thoroughly. Allow the jars to dry completely.
2,Paint the jar lid with acrylic paint in a color that coordinates with the other jar decorations. You may need to apply multiple coats for complete coverage. Allow the paint to dry.
3,Trim a piece of fabric or a sheet of colored cardstock or patterned paper to fit around the jar. Cut the paper so there is a slight overlap when you wrap the paper around the jar; one half to an inch of extra paper ensures that the paper will cover the whole jar.
4,Spray one side of the paper with spray adhesive. Spray the adhesive in a thin, even layer, holding the can at least 10 to 12 inches away from the paper to prevent drips. Follow the manufacturer instructions for the adhesive; in some cases, you may need to let the adhesive sit for a few minutes before adhering to the jar to ensure a strong bond.
5,Adhere the adhesive-coated paper to the jar. Work slowly, making the paper straight.

How to make a cookie jar air tight enough?

Many people would like to store their cookies on the counter in a cookie jar, but find that the cookies can go stale quickly when they do so. The reason the cookies go stale quickly is because many cookie jar lids do not have an airtight seal. If you have a cookie jar that is not airtight, you can fix it easily with some wax paper.
The first step is to tear off a piece of wax paper larger than your cookie jar lid and lay it on a flat surface. The second step is to place the cookie jar. Then trace around the circumference of the lid with a pencil. The four step is to cut the wax paper all the way around the circle, leaving an inch or two of space between the traced circle and where you are cutting. You want the wax paper circle to be larger than your jar's lid so that it hangs over the edges all around. Place the wax paper circle on top of your open cookie jar.
The final step is to close the lid over the wax paper, creating an airtight seal.

Method of checking the tightness of a sealed jar

What is the best way to check and see if a jar is completely air tight before storing any food in it? 
Canning jars generally have metal lids. "Airtight" for this purpose is just airtight as much as possible. It doesn't mean the jar has to have a vacuum seal like you'd need if you were actually canning something. If you are concerned about the jar, make sure it's dry on the outside, put some water in it, put the lid on, and then turn it over and see if your hand gets wet. If not, then it's airtight enough for purposes of storing dried fruit. 

The ways of vacuum the seal jars

When you grow your own food or make large batches of soups, sauces or jams, it's important to know proper canning techniques. A vacuum seal is necessary to keep canned goods fresh, as oxygen speeds up the rotting process of food. An airtight seal can more than triple the shelf life of your canned goods. No matter what you put inside a seal jar, the process for getting an airtight seal is essentially the same.
1,Wash the jar with hot water and liquid dish soap. Let it air dry for at least 30 minutes. You can also use the sanitize cycle on your dishwasher.
2,Fill the jar with the contents that you wish to preserve. Screw the lid on tightly, but not so tight that it will be difficult to unscrew later on.
3,Fill a canner with water and put it on the stove at medium heat. The water level should be high enough that it will sit at least 1 inch above the jar.
4,Fill a medium-sized pot with water and bring it to a boil. Keep it at a constant boil as you may need to use it later on.
5,Check the temperature of the water in the canner every couple of minutes. If the jar is raw packed, meaning the contents weren't previously cooked or heated, you need a temperature of 140 degrees Fahrenheit. If the jar is heat packed, meaning the contents are still warm, the water should be 180 degrees.
6,Lower the jar into the canner with either the canner's wire rack or with a pair of tongs. Pour boiling water in the canner if the water level isn't at least 1 inch above the jar.
7,Put the lid on the canner and turn the heat up to the highest setting.
8,Check the water level throughout the process to ensure it stays above the jar. If it gets low, pour more boiling water into the canner.
9,Turn the heat off after the recommended amount of time. Remove the jar with a pair of tongs, or pull out the wire rack if you used one, five minutes after you turn the heat off.
10,Place the hot jar on a towel and let it sit at room temperature for 24 hours. Do not put it in a cold area or any place with a cool draft as it may cause the glass to crack.
11,Push down on the center of the lid to ensure it is properly sealed. If the button pops up and down, repeat the process. If the center of the lid is flat, then the seal is good.

Method of sealing plastic cosmetic tube

Some customers may be wonder how to seal the plastic soft tube mouth.
As plastic tubes comes in various shapes and sizes, plastic sealer machines can be adjusted to the size and specifications of a tube. Plastics can be hard or soft, and vary in durability, which is why plastic sealers depend on heat sealing. Harder plastics require more heat to bind, while softer, more malleable plastics require a smaller amount of heat to weld together. After reading the following steps you will know how to seal it.
1,Turn on the plastic sealing machine.
2,Place the plastic tubes side by side, two inches apart, on the tray. Adjust the heating mechanism according to the height of the plastic tubes. Be sure that the tubes are standing on their top side.
3,Adjust the heating or sealing time of the machine. Different types of plastic require different heating time; the machine's user's manual should indicate how much heat and time should be applied to the tubes.
4,Press the "Start" button of the machine to begin the sealing process.
